What They’re Saying

I have to tell you that this was the only way to go! Six of us on a small boat with Captain Alan Niles was the best. Our 10-year old granddaughter wants to be a marine biologist when she grows up and the Captain paid special attention to her, letting her ride up front, and involving her as much as possible. We saw Minke, humpback, and orca whales on our 5:30 p.m. tour along with sea lions, harbor seals, and a few puffins flying by. Captain Alan gave some great hints at taking better photos (he's also a great photographer, by the way) and did everything he could to take advantage of the early evening lighting. Our thanks to him and  for making this, in our granddaughter’s words, “the best day of my life”!  Wayne P

We had a very nice morning with Capt. Alan who knows the waterways in the area very well. He made us feel welcome and let one of us take the till while looking after the crew work and the boat. To be recommended.

We sailed as two of four clients, and the intimate experience of sailing with so few offered a unique ability to participate in both trimming sails and steering the helm. I like to do that sort of thing, so I was an eager volunteer; others simply sat and enjoyed being carried by the wind. After a bit of instruction and playing with sails, we all then kicked back with wine and nibbles while the captain took charge of the helm and sailed us back to harbor, under sunset. It was indeed a very nice way to end the day.
